Promoting Recycling

Aluminum is valuable at every stage of its life cycle, and can be recycled endlessly while maintaining its material properties. Recycling aluminum requires only 5% of the energy used to produce primary metal, and emits 95% fewer GHG emissions. Recycling also protects resources and reduces waste.

Maximizing our use of recycled material is a core strategy for Constellium. We use a significant share of recycled aluminum in the manufacturing of our products. We already have considerable recycling capacity, and plan to substantially expand it in the coming years.

In addition to recycling aluminum, we pursue initiatives with our partners to increase global recycling rates.
