Job Summary:

The Metal Flow Manager is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of metal procurement, including purchase order execution, contract administration, and coordination of metal-related financial and operational activities. This role plays a critical part in maintaining supply continuity, optimizing procurement operations, and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the creation, tracking, and execution of all metal-related purchase orders.
  • Ensure timely and accurate PO processing aligned with production and inventory requirements.
  • Administer and maintain all metal supply contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
  • Actively manage assigned metal supplier accounts as determined by leadership.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between suppliers and internal departments for metal flow-related issues.
  • Monitor supplier KPIs and escalate concerns to ensure continuity of supply and service quality.
  • Develop and maintain models for forecasting metal and hardener costs.
  • Analyze market trends, historical data, and supplier inputs to support budgeting and strategic sourcing decisions.
  • Provide cost impact assessments for changes in market pricing or supply conditions.
  • Organize and coordinate the scheduling and delivery of hardeners into the plant.
  • Work closely with logistics, production planning, and warehouse teams to ensure timely and efficient material flow.
  • Resolve any scheduling conflicts or supply disruptions proactively.
  • Maintain accurate records of metal purchases, contract terms, pricing data, sustainability metrics, and supplier performance.
  • Generate regular reports for leadership on PO status, contract compliance, cost forecasts, and market trends.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives through data-driven insights and process optimization.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in purchasing, supply chain, or contract management, preferably in metals or manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of SAP, procurement systems, and ERP platforms.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with data modeling and forecasting tools.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Constellium Muscle Shoals is an aluminum manufacturing plant based in Alabama with over 1,200 employees. With its widest strip mill in the USA and a world-class recycling center, the site represents one of the largest sites within Constellium and is a world-class can recycling center, with the capacity to recycle nearly 20 billion cans per year. Muscle Shoals’ main product is aluminum can sheet for the packaging industry, particularly for beverage containers. It manufactures sheet used in all three components of an aluminum can, namely body stock, coated end stock and tab stock. Additionally, Muscle Shoals’ supplies Auto Body Sheet substrate to Constellium’ s Bowling Green, Kentucky, site.
