Job Summary:
The Senior Scrap Metal Buyer will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing scrap metal materials to meet the company's production needs. This role requires a deep understanding of the scrap metal market, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers.
Responsibilities:
- Sourcing and Procurement: Identify and evaluate potential suppliers of scrap metal. Negotiate contracts and purchase agreements to secure the best prices and terms.
- Market Analysis: Monitor market trends and prices to make informed purchasing decisions. Provide regular reports and forecasts to management.
- Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers. Ensure timely delivery of materials and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Compliance: Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies and industry regulations. Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the production, logistics, and finance teams to align purchasing strategies with company goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in scrap metal purchasing or a similar role.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards.
